Teachers like to think they’re introducing their students to Greek history with this book, but really what they’re giving them is one of the most violent, ridiculously unscholarly books ever written. ![]() Jump around the list and try and complete all 50 before you’re 50. You might recognize a few titles from school required reading, but even if you read more than the Sparknotes you’ll want to refresh (they’re classics for a reason, after all). And while there are surely plenty of classics out there, there’s no shortage of new books either that can constantly be added to the list.Ĭonsider this list of 50 as your starting off point.
